What should you check before buying?
- Carry: A dedicated pouch or a secure gear attachment gives it a repeatable home. Check the closure and how easily it could snag.
- Size and weight: Look for measured dimensions and finished weight. Include the case, clip, and cleaning kit in your comparison.
- Breakage: Ask what has actually been drop-tested. A protective case, body material, and removable parts all deserve a look.
- Cleanup: Check access to the bowl and airway, and follow the maker’s cleaning instructions. Count the loose parts you’ll have to keep track of.
- Heat: Check the handling and cooling instructions. Let the pipe cool completely before putting it against clothing or pack fabric.
Where does The Rip Clip fit?
The Rip Clip is our titanium smoking pipe with an integrated gear clip. The gate is designed to attach it to a pack loop, giving it a consistent home. The bottom of your bag has enough tenants.
It’s still a prototype. Final weight, drop-test results, and approved cleaning instructions aren’t published yet. The clip is for gear, never climbing or supporting a person.

Check your destination’s current smoking and fire restrictions; Yosemite’s rules show how they can vary by location and conditions. Fully extinguish smoking materials, let everything cool, and pack out your waste. Legal adult use only.
Once your kit is sorted, our guide to smoking outdoors helps you plan a comfortable break, check the rules, and keep cleanup simple.
