Titanium vs. glass at a glance
| What matters | Titanium body | Glass body |
|---|---|---|
| Breakage | A glass-free body removes glass breakage from the equation. | Glass can crack or chip. Thickness, surface condition, and protection matter. |
| Cost & value | More upfront, but a wiser long-term investment for a pipe you plan to keep taking outside. | Lower upfront cost, with the risk of breakage, replacement costs, and waste. |
| Packing | With a product like The Rip Clip, pack your pipe wherever you want. It has never been easier. | Allow space for a protective case in your kit. |

Is a titanium pipe always lighter than glass?
No. Compare the finished weight, including the case and accessories. Size and wall thickness matter. Titanium’s reputation for light gear doesn’t make every titanium pipe lighter than every glass one. Check the total kit price while you’re comparing.
Is a metal pipe always glass-free?
No. Some designs put a metal shell around a glass airway. If avoiding glass is your goal, check the bowl, airway, and removable parts. With either material, look for cleaning access you can actually reach and the maker’s care instructions.
Glass-free. Built to stay with your kit.
The Rip Clip is our titanium smoking pipe with an integrated wire gate. Its bowl, airway, and attachment point stay together, giving it a repeatable home on your pack. The bottom of your bag is not a filing system.
The Rip Clip is in prototype development. Final weight and drop-test results aren’t published yet.
